My Exxaro Journey
Making every shift count
For Leeuwpan’s Tumelo Mashigo, creating impact beyond the surface starts with everyday choices.
My name is Tumelo Mashigo, and for the past three years I have proudly worked at Leeuwpan Mine as an RDT Operator and SHE Representative.
During that time, I’ve come to realise that mining is about much more than moving material. It’s about people, teamwork and making sure everyone goes home safely at the end of every shift.
As an RDT Operator, I help keep our operations running safely and efficiently. As a SHE Representative, I have the opportunity to encourage safe work practices, identify hazards and support my colleagues in creating a workplace where we all look out for one another.
I believe that small actions, taken consistently, can make a big difference. Exxaro has given me opportunities to grow, learn new skills and develop, both personally and professionally. I am grateful to be part of a company that values its people and invests in their future.
As Exxaro celebrates 20 years of “Impact beyond the surface”, I’m proud to be part of that journey, and of helping to build safer workplaces, stronger teams and a better future for the communities we serve.
