#MineYourWords starts with one simple pause
#MineYourWords encourages employees to become responsible and confident digital citizens.
As employees, we represent the Exxaro brand wherever we go, including online. What we post, comment on and share can influence how people perceive us, our colleagues and Exxaro.
That is the thinking behind the #MineYourWords campaign, which encourages us to be responsible and confident digital citizens. Grounded in Exxaro’s Social Media Policy, the campaign equips employees to engage online responsibly and reminds us to apply the same care to our words that Exxaro applies to its mining practices.
#MineYourWords brought the conversation to life through interactive roadshows, industrial theatre performances, expert sessions led by social media law specialist Lerato Ntwampe, online masterclasses and an employee pledge. The campaign concluded with a quiz competition, giving employees the opportunity to test their knowledge while reinforcing the principles of responsible digital citizenship.
One message remained consistent throughout: Exxaro’s Social Media Policy isn’t about restricting social media use. It’s about giving employees the knowledge and confidence to engage responsibly, protect themselves and strengthen Exxaro’s reputation.
