Equipping teachers to strengthen learning
Grootegeluk is empowering Mathematics teachers to bring digital learning into their classrooms.
Strong learning outcomes start with teachers who have the right tools and support. With this in mind, Grootegeluk recently hosted a two-day training programme for Grade 8 and 9 Mathematics teachers from Phegelelo High School, Majadibodu Secondary School and Mananye Secondary School in Lephalae. Hosted at Phegelelo High School, the programme gave educators the practical skills and confidence to use an online tutoring platform in their classrooms.
The training forms part of our broader initiative to strengthen Mathematics teaching through digital learning. As teachers become more confident using technology in everyday lessons, learners benefit from more engaging classroom experiences and greater access to quality educational resources.

The programme also created an opportunity for teachers to exchange ideas, learn from one another and consider how technology can support the different needs of their learners.
This investment supports our social impact strategy, focusing on education and skills development in our host communities. By strengthening teachers’ capabilities, we help improve the learning environment and build stronger foundations for young people to pursue future education and career opportunities.

Why this matters: Education helps build thriving communities. Equipping teachers with practical digital tools strengthens classroom learning and helps young people build the foundations for future opportunities.

Investing in teachers creates a multiplier effect, strengthening the educators who can influence generations of learners in our host communities.”
