Capital Markets Day gave investors and stakeholders an opportunity to engage directly with our leadership teams and gain deeper insight into our business. Day one, hosted at the conneXXion, focused on formal presentations and discussions where our leaders shared how operational delivery, disciplined growth and prudent diversification are advancing our ambition to become a diversified natural resources champion.

On day two, the engagement moved from the boardroom to our operations in Lephalale, Limpopo, with visits to Grootegeluk Complex and the Lephalale Solar Plant. At Grootegeluk, stakeholders experienced the scale of our flagship mine, met the people behind the operation and saw the technical expertise that keeps one of South Africa’s most significant mining operations running every day.

At the Lephalale Solar Plant, visitors gained insight into the role of renewable energy in Exxaro’s decarbonisation strategy. Presentations by Grootegeluk General Manager Musa Mabasa and Cennergi CEO Danie du Plessis highlighted the role both operations play within our evolving portfolio and the value being created across our minerals and energy businesses.

Why this matters: Our strong coal foundation and growing renewable energy capability demonstrate how our minerals and energy businesses are advancing our SG&I strategy and building a more resilient, sustainable Exxaro.

Investors experienced first-hand the scale, technical expertise and operational excellence that underpin one of South Africa’s most significant mining operations.
