Manganese is officially in the house
Exxaro celebrated a defining milestone as manganese officially became part of the business portfolio.
Exxaro colleagues gathered at the conneXXion in March to celebrate the completion of one of the most significant transactions in the company’s recent history: the addition of manganese to the Exxaro portfolio.
The acquisition forms part of Exxaro’s deliberate diversification journey under its SG&I strategy and positions the business within one of the world’s most important manganese regions - the Kalahari Manganese Field.

The milestone represents years of disciplined strategy and strong operational performance that enabled Exxaro to invest in long-life, globally significant assets. Leaders described the acquisition as a defining step in Exxaro’s next growth phase and a powerful symbol of where the business is heading.
The celebration concluded with the ringing of a ceremonial bell, officially welcoming manganese into the house and marking the beginning of a new chapter for Exxaro.

Why this matters: Diversifying into manganese strengthens Exxaro’s long-term resilience and opens new opportunities for growth in minerals that are critical to global industrial and energy transition markets.

Today we marked a defining milestone in Exxaro’s journey as we celebrated the acquisition of one of the world’s largest manganese assets - a bold step that opens a new chapter of growth, resilience and long-term value creation."
