Exxaro shines at Mining Indaba
Exxaro helped shape important industry conversations at the Mining Indaba through discussions on workforce readiness, partnerships and the future of mining.
Exxaro joined mining leaders from across the globe at the 2026 Investing in African Mining Indaba conference in Cape Town, using the platform to showcase how the business continues to evolve into a diversified natural resources champion. Guided by the theme 20 Years of Impact Beyond the Surface, Exxaro reflected on two decades of growth while looking firmly towards the future.
The week opened with Exxaro’s annual CEO Dinner, where key stakeholders gathered to discuss the future of mining in Africa. CEO Ben Magara reflected on Exxaro’s founding ambition: to prove that mining can create value far beyond the balance sheet.

Throughout the week, Exxaro leaders participated in discussions on diversification, AI, sustainability, workforce readiness and responsible coal stewardship. Meanwhile, the company’s museum-style exhibition stand brought Exxaro’s 20-year journey to life through stories of safety, innovation and transformation.
Five Professionals in Training (PITs) also proudly represented Exxaro at the stand, engaging visitors and sharing our SG&I story with confidence and energy.

Why this matters: Mining Indaba is where the future of mining is debated and shaped. Exxaro’s presence reinforces our role as a forward-looking business helping shape a safer, more sustainable and more inclusive mining industry.
