20 years of impact beyond the surface

Exxaro begins a year-long celebration of the people, moments and purpose that shaped its journey.

For 20 years, Exxaro has worked beyond the surface helping power homes, support communities and create opportunities across South Africa and beyond.

What began beneath the surface has evolved into something far greater – a business shaped by resilience, innovation, safety and the collective efforts of people across every part of the value chain. From the visible work on our operations to the quieter contributions behind the scenes, every employee has helped shape Exxaro’s story and the impact it continues to make above and beyond the surface.

As Exxaro marks its vicennial (20th) anniversary, the business will spend 2026 reflecting on the milestones, partnerships and defining moments that transformed it from a coal producer into a diversified natural resources champion. Throughout the year, employees can expect stories, activations and celebrations that honour the journey and the people who made it possible.

Exxaro officially turns 20 on 27 November 2026. Watch this space as we continue to unpack our 20 years of impact beyond the surface!

Mining can and must create lasting value beyond the balance sheet.

Why this matters: Celebrating 20 years reminds us that Exxaro’s story has always been built by its people, and that the next chapter will be shaped by the same spirit of pride, resilience and possibility.
