Welcome to this edition of XXplore!

As we reach the final stretch of 2025, this issue celebrates what makes Exxaro different: our people, our culture, and our commitment to powering better lives, both safely and sustainably. Across the business, we’ve seen powerful examples of resilience, leadership and care in action, on the ground, online, and in our communities.

We start with our PIT Symposium and Culture Live, where our Professionals in Training (PITs) and more than 600 colleagues helped shape the Exxaro we want to be – one that is inclusive, purpose-led and future-ready. At the Joburg Indaba, Exxaro’s voice was at the centre of the conversation on the future of mining, while the launch of our Possibility Promise (EVP), ERP journey progress and the introduction of Minescape show how we are investing in our people, systems and technology to build a stronger tomorrow.

Safety and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do. Leadership Safety Day, Grootegeluk’s 13 years fatality-free, and our critical season focus remind us that Zero Harm is possible when each of us chooses safety, every day. At the same time, FUNN@WORK, Belfast’s Wellness Day, Ignite your Health, the Ibandla Men’s Conversation, and our cybersecurity awareness efforts show how seriously we take mental, physical and digital wellbeing across Exxaro.

This edition also highlights how we live our purpose beyond our sites: from long service celebrations that honour the people who spark our possibilities, to community and sustainability initiatives at Mafube and Belfast that bring infrastructure and education, and environmental restoration to life. Our Exxaro MTB Academy and Heritage Month activities remind us that pride and culture are powerful forces for connection.
