Nkangala learners reach new heights

Strong NSC results across the district highlighted the power of partnership and investment in education.

Exxaro joined the Nkangala District Department of Education in celebrating the district’s outstanding 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results – a reflection of growing academic momentum and strong collaboration across schools, communities and partners.

The district achieved an impressive overall pass rate of 87.4%, improving from 85.2% in 2024. Several municipalities recorded major gains, with eMalahleni emerging as the district’s top-performing municipality after increasing its pass rate from 82.5% to 94.0%. Victor Khanye and Emakhazeni municipalities also recorded significant improvements.

One of the standout success stories came from Lehlaka Combined School, which improved from a 72% pass rate to an exceptional 91%. Through support for academic camps and the provision of learning resources, partners like Exxaro helped create an environment where learners could thrive and succeed.

To celebrate the achievements, Exxaro contributed laptops, smartwatches and luggage sets to top-performing learners as they prepare for university and future careers in an increasingly digital world.
