This year, our commitment to social impact came to life through partnerships that strengthened essential services, improved access and helped enable more communities to thrive. From healthcare and infrastructure to sport and youth development, these initiatives demonstrate how Exxaro works alongside stakeholders to build communities that are resilient, connected, and full of possibility.
Restoring vision, renewing hope
Through a partnership with Aga Setchaba, Exxaro helped equip the Hope for the Blind Hospital in Modimolle with R15 million in specialised medical technology to treat preventable blindness. The upgraded facility expands access to life-changing eye care for vulnerable residents – a powerful step toward healthier, thriving communities.
Delivering safer roads and stronger access
In Mafube, a new 3.5 km tarred road now links Sikhululiwe Village to the R104, replacing a gravel route that often became impassable. The project improves daily access to schools, healthcare and essential services while supporting local job creation, strengthening both mobility and economic resilience.
Powering youth development through sport
The Exxaro Mountain Bike Academy continued to uplift young riders at events like FNB Wines2Whales Shiraz and 947 Ride Joburg. As the official Development Partner, Exxaro provides platforms, training and opportunity for talented youth to excel. Through sport and education, the Academy helps unlock potential and build thriving futures.
