Meet Scelo Ndima
For Scelo Buhle Ndima, joining the Firefighting Team was just the beginning of a bigger purpose. She discovered that safety is not only about policies and procedures but a shared responsibility. Through initiatives such as the Safety Indaba, eco-friendly school projects, and the MSME Programme, Scelo saw how Exxaro empowers communities, cares for its people, and protects the environment. Inspired by this, she enrolled at UNISA to study Health and Safety Management, aiming to contribute to a safer and greener future.

Meet Nondumiso Makhubela
For Nondumiso Makhubela, working on the North-West Access (NWA) Belt Project at Matla Mine 2 has been a journey of personal and professional growth. Starting as a semi-skilled electrician, she gained technical experience, leadership exposure, and confidence. As a SHE Representative, she learned to prioritise safety and speak up for her team, showing how Exxaro’s commitment to people development creates lasting impact.
