Restoring vision, renewing hope a partnership to tackle preventable blindness
We recently joined hands with the non-profit company Aga Setchaba to support Hope for the Blind (HFTB) Hospital, an eye-care specialist facility based in Modimolle. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to making a meaningful impact in the communities we operate in.
As part of this initiative, we contributed to the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment valued at R15 million to support HFTB’s efforts in addressing preventable blindness. Though cataracts can be treated through a relatively simple surgical procedure, thousands remain visually impaired due to lack of access to specialised care.
The launch of the upgraded facility was attended by several dignitaries, including Former Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke, who acknowledged the importance of collective action in transforming lives.
HFTB is an independent, non-profit eye surgery unit dedicated to improving access to quality eye care for the visually impaired and socio-economically disadvantaged residents of Limpopo and surrounding areas.
This initiative is a shining example of what’s possible when sectors work together to drive change.
