First quarter winners announced in Belfast’s 

ignite your health biggest loser competition

The Ignite Your Health Biggest Loser Competition has concluded its first quarter, and the results are in! This health and wellness campaign aims to encourage weight loss, improve fitness, boost mental wellbeing, team spirit, and reduce the risk of lifestyle-related illnesses. The campaign recently announced its top five winners, who achieved remarkable weight loss and received fantastic prizes for their efforts.

Nonkululeko Skosana emerged victorious in the first quarter of the competition, shedding an impressive 12 kilograms. When asked about her winning strategy, Nonkululeko emphasised that a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, dairy, and adequate water intake worked wonders combined with regular exercise. Nonkululeko’s workout routine consisted of skipping, using a ball provided by Exxaro, and creative exercises like squats and leg exercises using a car tire.

“Losing weight can have a significant positive effect on both physical and mental well-being. I feel more energetic, experience less pain, and have improved mood and self-esteem,” Nonkululeko added. 

Also among the top five Pioneers was Kennedy Tubatsi, who claimed second place after shedding eight kilograms – earning himself an airfryer. .  The last three of the top five winners, Brenda Mahlangu, Rose Malaza, and Zamile Snymes, each lost six kilograms and walked away with tech-themed prizes, including smartwatches. 

With a target life expectancy of 70 years, outlined in South Africa’s National Development (NDP) Vision 2030, initiatives like Ignite Your Health Biggest Loser Competition support a healthier, thriving nation.
