Matla Mine hosted its first-ever two-day Career Expo in Ga-Nala, Kriel, bringing together Grade 9 and 11 learners from Kriel High School, Lehlaka Combined School, and Sibongamandla Secondary School under the theme ‘Explore Your Future.’

The expo was designed to inspire and guide learners as they prepare for their future careers. Activities included motivational talks, panel discussions, one-on-one career guidance sessions, and exhibitions from industry experts and business partners. A highlight was Exxaro’s exhibition stand, which featured virtual reality underground tours, giving learners a glimpse into the mining environment.

The Career Expo left learners more informed, inspired, and better prepared to make subject choices that will shape their career paths. It also reflects Exxaro’s commitment to education as a pillar of our Social Impact Strategy, ensuring that young people are equipped with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
